Codes of Conduct
We love to explore the world and travel to faraway destinations.
In these places, people often have customs and traditions that differ from ours, but (of course) there are also many shared values and beliefs. However, some behaviors are unacceptable, both at home and abroad.
Below, you’ll find (in English) codes of conduct regarding wildlife, massages, tours, and other aspects of travel. Read these guidelines to clearly understand what is and isn’t acceptable or allowed.
A few highlights include:
Combat Child Exploitation, Even Abroad!
We actively support the efforts of ANVR, TheCode.org, ChildSafe, and Defence for Children – ECPAT in fighting child exploitation in vacation destinations. We encourage you to stay alert and report any suspicions of child abuse to any of the aforementioned organizations, even if the abuse occurs abroad!
Protection of Wildlife and Plants
AsiaDirect fully supports the objectives of CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), an international agreement among governments aimed at preventing the global trade of wildlife and plants from endangering their survival. We believe it’s important to inform travelers about this and to discourage purchases that harm flora or fauna.
This principle extends beyond animals and plants. We also strongly advise travelers against purchasing religious or historical artifacts if their origin is doubtful or unclear.
