On this tour, we visit two famous markets. They are completely different, which is precisely why they make such a good tour combination together. We talk about Damnoen Saduak, Thailand's most renowned floating market, and the Maeklong Train Market where a train literally cuts through daily market life.

You will be picked up at your hotel in Bangkok to first head to the Damnoen Saduak floating market. Not far before reaching the market, we board long-tail boats to navigate the narrow canals that connect the main sites here to the market.

At this floating market, the largest in the wide area, you enter another world. Deftly, the Thai sail their boats with all kinds of merchandise around. Lots of fruit is on offer, but there are also boats on which noodles or other delicacies are prepared. If you want you can take one of the paddle boats to cruise through the market.

Like any other market, the Maeklong Train Market is a busy place. You don't see any difference. Except that you notice there is a railway track. Do trains come here, you think…. Then a siren blaring sounds and in a flash the market changes. Shoppers disappear and stallholders pull their products off the tracks. The market comes to a halt as all the vendors cling to the poles supporting their canopies to let the train pass. It is so tight that the train, travelling at about 25 km per hour, almost hits the fruit and everything else in the market as it passes.
