Day 1: Chiang Mai – Jungle camp
In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel in Chiang Mai. By local pick-up car, you will go to the camp near the village of Tung La Korn. Along the way, a stop is made at a local market to stock up the necessary provisions for the next two days. After this, you will go to a local village where lunch will be served. Then it is time to put on the hiking boots. Today’s walk takes approximately 3 hours. While walking through the jungle, you will pass various viewpoints with a fantastic view of the jungle. Because this trek goes through a relatively new area, you will not encounter other groups along the way. This gives you, even more, the feeling that you are one with the overwhelming nature. Our endpoint today is the simple jungle camp where we will spend the night. After a well-earned meal, the campfire is lit. Play games or sing songs while the fire slowly goes out and it is time to go to sleep.
Day 2: Jungle camp – Chiang Mai
In the early morning, you will be awakened by the twittering of the birds. After breakfast, it is time to put on your hiking boots again. Today’s walk takes approximately 2 hours. Along the way, you will stop at various hill tribes, such as the Meo, Lahu, and Lisu. The hill tribes live in the traditional way in the jungle. Every hill tribe has its own unique and colorful clothing style. This is especially visible in the women. Then, you will walk further through nature, in the direction of a waterfall. Here you can enjoy a cooling dip in the water. You will also visit a bat cave. The end point of the walk is an elephant camp. Here you can meet the special residents and you can treat them to a refreshing bath in the river. Finally, you will sail on the Mae Tang river by bamboo raft. After about an hour, you will reach the end point where you can shower and put on dry clothes. This is followed by the transfer back to your hotel in Chiang Mai, where you will arrive at the end of the afternoon.
